Terms of Service

Last updated: January 1, 2025

By accessing or using ExcelErrorFinder.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

ExcelErrorFinder provides a free, browser-based tool that analyses Excel spreadsheet files for formula errors, inconsistencies, and other issues. The Service operates entirely client-side — no files are transmitted to our servers.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:

  • Use the Service to analyse files that you do not own or have explicit authorisation to process
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate use of the Service in a way that imposes unreasonable load on our infrastructure
  • Use the Service to circumvent any copyright or intellectual property protections
  • Attempt to introduce malware, viruses, or harmful code

3. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and materials on ExcelErrorFinder.com are the property of ExcelErrorFinder and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

The SheetJS library used for file parsing is licensed under the Apache 2.0 License and its copyright belongs to its respective authors.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely accurate
  • All spreadsheet errors will be detected (some issues, such as circular references, require a live formula engine)
  • The audit results are suitable for making financial, legal, or other critical decisions without independent verification

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ExcelErrorFinder shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to financial losses, data loss, or errors in spreadsheet analysis results.

6. Third-Party Advertising

This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. Ad content is governed by Google's advertising policies.

7. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
