Tool Accuracy

ExcelErrorFinder performs static code analysis on spreadsheet files. This means we analyse formula text and structure rather than executing calculations. While we strive to detect as many issues as possible, the following limitations apply:

  • Circular references require a live formula engine (such as Microsoft Excel) for definitive detection.
  • Runtime errors that only appear under specific data conditions may not be caught.
  • Custom VBA macros are not analysed.
  • Very large files (100MB+) may not be fully parsed in all browser environments.
  • Results depend on the SheetJS library's ability to parse the specific file format and features used.

Not Professional Advice

The audit results provided by ExcelErrorFinder are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional financial, legal, accounting, or technical advice. You should independently verify all findings before making decisions based on spreadsheet data, particularly in regulated or financial contexts.

No Guarantee of Completeness

ExcelErrorFinder may not detect all errors, inconsistencies, or issues present in a spreadsheet. The absence of flagged issues does not guarantee that a spreadsheet is error-free or suitable for any particular purpose.
