Frequently Asked Questions
What statistics does this tool compute?
For every column: total rows, non-empty cell count, empty cell count, numeric count (cells with actual numbers), sum, average, minimum, and maximum. Text-only columns show — for numeric stats.
Does it include the header row in calculations?
No — the tool assumes the first row is a header and computes statistics only for rows below it, matching standard Excel table behaviour.
What happens with columns that mix text and numbers?
Only cells that contain actual numeric values are included in sum/average/min/max. Text cells in a mixed column are counted as non-empty but not included in numeric calculations. The "Count #" field shows exactly how many numeric values were found.
Can I see statistics for different sheets?
Yes — if your workbook has multiple sheets, use the sheet tabs to switch. Statistics are recalculated instantly for each sheet.
What does "empty" mean — are cells with spaces counted as empty?
Yes. Cells containing only whitespace are treated as empty. A cell must contain a non-whitespace value to count as non-empty.
